Established at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas on November 15, 1971 by Hal Carter, Charles Daniels, Billy Davis, Richard Fritchman, Billy Taylor, Hugh Turner and Lonnie Woods. It was the first predominately Black Fraternity founded on the campus as well as the first interracial fraternity.
Some of the professions past Eta Psi Chapter members are in include: Law, Engineering, Education, Real Estate, Sports, Public Administration, Service, Arts Administration, Law Enforcement, Military, Banking, Accounting, Medical, Religion, Entertainment and Business. Service has always been a commitment both for the fraternity and Eta Psi.
This chapter has very strong roots in the development of Student Life. Chapter members were the founders of the Black Student Caucus and the Gospel Choir. Past chapter members were members of Order of Omega (Greek Honor Society), Mortar Board, INROADS, the Cheerleading Squad, NCAA Championship Track Teams (4x100 Relay Team), Southwest Conference Championship Basketball Team, Program Committee and Student Government Council. |
